Our sustainability story

Wayfindr co-founders Nick Bartlett and Chris Crutchley are from New Zealand, where sustainability is a way of life. With more and more consumers demanding environmentally friendly products, Nick and Chris saw an opportunity to provide carbon-neutral services in the logistics world.

“As global supply chains continue to grow, so does their environmental impact—and we knew we had to be part of the solution, not the problem.”
Chris Crutchley

Offsetting our impact

Offsetting our impact

The transportation sector is responsible for about 25% of greenhouse gas emissions globally. While the freight and logistics industry is one of the most difficult to shift toward more sustainable operations, Wayfindr is leading the way in offsetting the environmental impacts of our industry. In 2022, we became certified carbon-neutral through our partnership with South Pole.

Taking responsibility for our providers

Taking responsibility for our providers

Most of our emissions come from the providers in our network. Though we don’t have control over their sustainability goals and progress, we do monthly audits to gather the emissions data we need to stay carbon neutral. We’re also looking for more partners which invest in renewable electricity, sustainable packaging, efficient warehouse HV/AC systems, and lower-carbon fuels.

Leaving the world a better place

Most of our team at Wayfindr have families and children. It’s only natural that we want them to grow up in a better world, and the only way to achieve that is to make a difference now. As a 4PL working with many logistics providers, we have the power to cause a ripple effect in the industry and create positive change.

FAQs

What are carbon emissions and greenhouse gases?

Greenhouse gases (GHGs) are any gases that contribute to climate change through the effect of global warming (carbon dioxide, methane, nitrous oxide, and more). As more of these gases are released, the atmosphere traps more heat from the sun every year. This is causing the climate to change. GHGs and carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions are often used interchangeably with carbon emissions when talking about the climate.
